According to the latest statistics released by the World Bank in 2024,in the ranking of the world's GDP in 1972, United States ranked first in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $1279.11 billion; Former Soviet Union ranked second in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $515.8 billion; Japan ranked third in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $318.03 billion; Germany ranked fourth in terms of GDP, with a total economy of $299.8 billion; and France, with a total economy of $203.49 billion, ranked fifth in GDP.
